Meet the Coach. |
Hi, I'm Devin Blessing, a Los Angeles based Doctor of Physical Therapy, Run Coach, husband, and father. As a physical therapist, I have been helping endurance athletes navigate injuries and achieve their goals for more than a decade. As a coach, I work with runners of all levels to help them achieve consistent training over time while adapting to the natural ebbs and flows of life.
My love of sports started as a kid as I dabbled in almost every sport possible. I was a three sport athlete in high school and played football at Ithaca College. After finishing my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, I moved to New York City where I began my career as a physical therapist. While in NYC, I started to gain interest in endurance sports while participating in my first triathlon.

After spending the first 27 years of my life in New York, I'd had enough of the cold and moved to Southern California. My passion for triathlon and running grew due to the incredible weather and culture around endurance sports in Los Angeles. As a goal oriented person, I found the idea that endurance athletes can improve throughout their 30s and 40s to be incredibly inspiring. After competing in several olympic distance triathlons and an Ironman 70.3, I shifted my focus to marathon running. As a runner, I have qualified for the Boston marathon several times and continue to hit new PRs as I move into my late 30s.
Finding time to train is not always easy as a parent, a busy professional career, and a wife with an equally busy schedule. However, making physical activity a priority has always been a core value in our family. Like most people, I function best in all aspects of life when also maintaining consistency in running and strength training.

I view strength training as a crucial piece of any endurance athletes training. Research shows it can both improve performance as well as reduce likelihood of injury. My athletic background and experience as a physical therapist give me a strong understanding of strength programming for both performance and injury prevention purposes. I scale strength training appropriately for each athletes training history and equipment accessibility.
Whether your goal is to maintain a healthy and consistent lifestyle, achieve a BQ, or get on a podium, I would be happy to help guide you on your journey as an endurance athlete.
